- a stopped installer script (the Docker convenience script at its time limit or output limit, or on Ctrl+C, SIGTERM or SIGHUP) counts as ended once none of its processes is running; processes that ended but were never reaped (zombies) no longer count. In a container without an init process nothing reaps the ended commands the script started, so the stop used to wait out the SIGTERM and SIGKILL grace periods and then fail with
